I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. (Psalm 32:8) Dear friend, We at the Yarah Project are thankful to God to be able to develop this platform to educate, teach, and strengthen the faithful believers in Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior. We belong to the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, an ancient and independent Church. We hold that it was the Apostle Thomas who brought the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our community in Kerala, India in 52 A.D. In the centuries since, the Christians (originally called as Nazrani, or “Followers of the Nazarene”, or today known together as St. Thomas Christians) have grown and split into different rites, such as Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, or Independent. The Mar Thoma Church exists as an independent, autonomous Church with its unique blend of traditions from East and West Syriac Christianity, Roman Catholic, Anglican, other Protestant influences, and from the native Kerala/Indian heritage. Its theology is fundamentally through the Bible and tested through the lens of the Bible. It holds to the teachings and traditions of the Church Universal which are aligned with the Scriptures and are not against the teachings in the Scriptures. The Yarah Project works to educate and inform the Mar Thoma community, particularly those in the diaspora, spread throughout the world. This blog will contain articles, thoughts, devotions for the spiritual growth of the faithful, to draw everyone to knowledge of Jesus Christ as Savior, and bring the Mar Thoma faithful to stronger discipleship in Christ and greater love for the Church. May God bless us all.
